Don’t Call Her Baby Anymore!

Known for her hit single “Don’t Call Me Baby“, this femme fatale is back on the scene with brand new music. Singer Kreesha Turner made quite the appearance during Toronto Fashion Week as I spotted her at countless runway shows.  She is one naturally gorgeous lady. Kreesha was also debuting her new look: natural dark curls combed out with corn rows on one side.  She no doubt has a more grown and sexy look – definitely not a baby anymore! We see you girl!

Toronto Fashion Week F/W 2012: Lucian Matis

It is not news that I am a huge Lucian Matis fan and supporter.  Besides his seemingly charming self and humble personality – I fell in love with the beauty and attention to detail that goes into each piece.  Although his pieces are for the most part custom and a little hard on the pocket$, if you’re a woman looking for a sexy yet classy dress…Lucian is your man.  His Fall/Winter show was nothing short of perfection.  The collection comprised of mostly black dresses and let’s not forget the feathers!  Here are some of my pics below.  I definitely urge everyone to go check out his Facebook Page for more pictures of his collection.

Toronto Fashion Week F/W 2012: Line Knitwear

I am a big Line fan!  If you don’t know about this Canadian design team, you need to check them out.  The duo definitely had some sexy, feminine and immaculately draped pieces for the upcoming Fall/Winter season that I loved.  I am very much into over-sized knits – sweaters, vests or dresses.  The show was great – but I expected nothing less.  Below are some photos I took of my favourite pieces.  Enjoy.

A Sea of Orange at Toronto Fashion Week!

Ok, so maybe my photo above is a slight exaggeration.  However, I truly felt liked I missed the memo: “Wear orange on Day One of Toronto Fashion Week!”  I know that orange was big for Spring/Summer, especially with Joe Fresh (is it bad that I now associate the colour with Joe Fresh?! Talk about powerful branding). Seriously people, the amount of orange that was “seen” on the “scene” had to be commented on.  Bright orange, sunset orange…orange sherbet.  I felt so out of place, that I ate an orange out of the fruit basket in the media lounge!  Get your dose of Vitamin C below.

;) Cheers!

I am looking forward to my packed week of fashion festivities downtown Toronto at David Pecaut Square.  Not only has fashion week taken on a new title sponsor (now known as World MasterCard Fashion Week), the hair and make-up has changed brands from L’Oreal Paris to Maybelline.  This season’s theme named “Canadian Catwalk” definitely seems to have spruced up it’s line up with some very exciting experienced and up-and-coming designers to present.

Stay tuned for my daily updates! It’s going to be a long week!

NYFW: Brandon Sun

A highlight of New York Fashion Week for me was definitely the box presentation by designer Brandon Sun.  Brandon was a graduate of New York’s Parson’s Fashion Design School.  In New York I learned of his excellent background: designer at J. Mendel and Design Director for the Fur Division at Oscar de la Renta.  This season comprised of luxury fur shrugs, capes and scarves.  His designs are carried in major retailers from Saks Fifth Avenue to Lane Crawford.  Enjoy my pics below!
